Arranging
Flowers have a way of transforming the mood of a room. Whether it’s a dinner for friends or simply a bunch picked up on the way home, arranging them doesn’t have to follow a rulebook.

For floral artist Jayati Jain, it’s less about perfection and more about creating something that feels joyful.

For everyday arrangements at home, Jayati often visits neighbourhood flower shops. They’re convenient and usually have everything needed for a simple bouquet.
For events or larger gatherings, she heads to Bengaluru’s flower markets. KR Market offers an incredible variety of regional blooms, garlands and seasonal flowers, while Wilson Garden is known for its selection of exotic and imported varieties, stored in large walk-in refrigerated rooms.

The way you arrange flowers can change depending on the size of the gathering.
For an intimate meal with three or four people, Jayati prefers keeping the arrangement on the dining table, where conversations naturally unfold. Larger gatherings offer more freedom. Instead of limiting flowers to a single surface, she likes placing them throughout the home, even suspending arrangements from ceiling hooks, to create an atmosphere that surrounds guests.

Experimentation is what keeps flower arranging exciting for Jayati. With every arrangement, she looks for something she hasn’t tried before, like a different combination, an unexpected element, or a new way of displaying it.
